TWO cute!

Last week Mimi and I went on a "field trip" with Gent and Ash to the Butterfly Pavilion. Mimi had been previously with Mom while we were in Vegas and hadn't stopped talking about it. Some mornings she'd just wake up and look me in the eye and say, "Mama, I touched a-butterflies!" or "Mama, I touched a-fish!" I just had to go back with her and see what all the fuss was about!!!

Then it was into the butterfly room...!

After we spent the first fifteen minutes in the butterfly room trying to touch as many butterflies as we could, we read a sign that said, "DO NOT TOUCH THE BUTTERFLIES, IT SHORTENS THEIR LIFESPAN." Hmm....woops! :) So, if anyone from the Butterfly Pavilion is reading this, that really wasn't a picture of us touching the butterflies and chasing them around. We just super-imposed that into our picture....just in case you were wondering.

Then we were off to a fantastic lunch at Hacienda! With both of the kids there to entertain each other, Ash and I actually got to eat AND talk!!! Can you imagine?!? I've made up my mind to only travel in pairs with the Swansons for every outing or meal... ;)

I can't get enough of these two together! Can't wait for our next adventure!!!!

Resurrection Times Two!

We celebrated TWO monumental resurrections on Easter Sunday. One, Christ, risen from the dead, the other, The Rhodes Family Easter Picnic!!!! :) The first's magnitude hit me afresh on Sunday during church...my whole life is different because Jesus didn't stay on the cross...I feel thankful to have a faith that also gives such great historical evidence for that to be the case, as miraculous and out of the norm as that event was. Thank you Jesus. The second's resurrection was a miracle as well. The Rhodes family has gathered at the same park in Longmont for many Easters, but as of lately, the tradition fell by the wayside. I'm happy to say that we all pulled together and made it happen. It was so fun!!!! As you can see, there was PLENTY of food, smiles, sun and an Easter Egg hunt, of course. We can't wait for next year :)
