We have been squeezing as much fun as possible out of this Winter Break. Last night my mom and I went to see "It's Complicated" in the movie theater (it was WAY funny!)...my mom hadn't been to a movie in TEN YEARS!!!! She said that the last movie she saw was either "Patch Adams"or "Titanic"! We were joking that the last movie she saw didn't even have sound, or that the theater didn't have indoor plumbing...(we are soooo funny ;) So, as someone who LOVES LOVES the movie theater more than most things in life, I made sure that we went to the cool theater (not the old yucky Longmont one). We got popcorn and huge sodas, sat in a front, middle spot and had so much fun. Thanks mom for staying out so late on a "school night."

Mimi, Ben and I cashed in a yummy Med gift certificate this afternoon for lunch. My meal was HEAVENLY. We Turrills don't really let gift cards sit for too long...it was nice to order whatever we wanted and not care about money. Mimi had her fill of pizza and stuff from our plate (her hair smells like risotto from the handfull she smashed in her hair)

Yippee!!!! We loved having all of us home together for a week, and we LOVE Christmas!!!

A Good Day

I got a gift certificate from Whole Foods from a student
(okay, that's maybe not so'country-ish")
Someone at work found out that I'm sellin' Shaklee and wanted to buy stuff 'cause she
likes it so much!


It's been a very good day.

Snuggle Puppy

Ang, this is for you. Mimi loves her new book Snuggle Puppy! She dances through the chorus everytime. I just thought you HAD to see this!

For our latest and greatest Mimi Update, we woke up to a big thud coming from her room on Tuesday. Ben and I ran in to see Mimi OUT of her crib, standing in front of it. She had hoisted herself out to get her stuffed dog on the floor. We're just thankful that she landed on her feet! So, needless to say, I anxiously go into her room the minute I hear her babbling instead of letting her talk for awhile I normally do.

She continues to be a talking machine; it is so fun. If you ask her "where's daddy (or nana)?" she says, "Wok" (for work!) It's so funny to hear, I never get sick of it!

She started watching her "Tinkerbelle" movie the other night and proceeded to say "tinkerbelle" (or "tink-a-b"). She also has become the official house tattletale. When she sees Henry doing something he shouldn't (like getting on the table, scratching the carpet, climbing in the Christmas tree, the list goes on!) she says, "No No!" until someone goes and stops Henry. After hearing us scold him so much, the concept just stuck!

She also is becoming VERY attached to her pink silky and soft blankie from my Aunt Marianne. She has cried for two consecutive nights at bath time when we told her that she in fact couldn't bring her blankie with her. So far this week it has been drug along a store floor, along the garage, snuggled with Griffy and Daisy (Bob and Robyn's dogs), has been involved in a sad bloody nose incident (Mimi's doll craddle rocked up and knocked her in the nose :( and has acted as a kleenex and a bib when we were in a jam. Number of times I've had to sneak it away and wash it so far this week: 3

She is a funny girl. We can't wait to spend another Christmas with her. xoxo

Ben's BIG Birthday

On December 4th, Ben turned 30! I wanted to make a memorable birthday for him for this milestone year, so together with Bob and Robyn (and my mom) we planned a surprise birthday bash. It was so fun, but the secrets and deceptions just kept getting bigger and involving more and more people. Lies really are like snowballs! (even if they are for a good purpose!) I was soooo super relieved when he finally walked in and the truth of all of my sneaking around could come out. (although, the last detail to make the whole surprise go down, was that I was supposed to text my mom when we were about to pull up to Bob and Robyn's. I think I was so anxious and nervous myself that I forgot my last, one important job. So, when we pulled up, the surprise came out a little prematurely when Ben saw my family in the living room. Oh well! It was still a wonderful night. We just wanted Ben to feel special. Horay for his 30th year :)
