Team Turrill: March 2016

I was musing at the fact that I used to update this blog so often. The regularity of my posts (or irregularity) is an indication of the fullness of our life right now...two kids, three jobs, a tribe of precious friends (and my kids' friends)...life is good. But I definitely feel poured out at a max sometimes. A girl like me likes to have a little space for introspection and reflection (and probably any other "tion" word you can think of), so my life is lacking a bit without it. But maybe it's good. This is the season we're in. And let's face it, my brain can be a scary place to lurk sometimes...better just to strap in and enjoy the ride forward :)

So, this blog post is entitled "Then"...(the only way I knew how to link all of these random pictures together :)

Now that I'm a preschool teacher, Dr. Seuss' birthday is again a holiday that I honor...so of course we had to get Emerson in the loop too!

Mimi wanted to dress up like Sam I am for school...I realized that these days are fleeting, so I bought felt and we got to town. And Mimi even used her craftiness to make "green eggs and ham" :)

THEN, we had an impromptu sleepover with Charlotte...these girls are WACKY!

They DID not even realize that they were dressed so alike...

What do you do when you have blonde wigs on? zip line of course!

THEN, Mimi and I saw Zootopia. Wow. Big themes for a Disney movie...I'm still searching for an adult to discuss with. Inquire within. (Julie, I'm looking at YOU).

We came home to find these handsome boys...

THEN, I got sick. Really sick. :(

And Ben stepped up his game as Super Dad.

Then, I wondered if I could find this dress in my size.

THEN, I tried to "trim up" Bode's hair. Put the RAZOR ...DOOOWWNN!

THEN, Mimi's teacher took an adorable selfie with her. We LOVE her. xoxo

THEN, Bode and Bennett played like big boys and Beth and I marveled at where the time has gone...

THEN, Beth showed me her ring "wish picture"...

And we both took pictures with each other's rings so our hubbies would have "IDEAS" (read: strong hints). She has the ring, not the band, I have the band not the ring. Classic.

THEN it was my BIRTHDAY. And it was magical. I thought I had to work...that got cancelled (sad for our sweet girls who were sick..:( but it allowed Bode and I to go to Boulder to have lunch with daddy AND for my to get my nails done as a bday treat from Beth xox

WHO also showed up with coffee, just as my head was CAVING in. Man, now I know what the world would be like if I could clone myself.

THEN we had dinner with mom, Geeps, and the Swansons...couldn't be a better group.

(don't worry, that NEVER ending chin acne is my 35 year "gift with purchase" YAAAY!)

THEN, I had girls night with my crew who I'm so thankful for. Of course, making shirts seemed like the right thing to do...

And texting a picture to all of the girls of the fact that ALL of my jeans have holes in the same area also seemed like the right thing to do...

We came, we saw, we got fancy, we Uber'd home. (or to Aunt Leslies:)

THEN, the next morning after going to sleep at 4 am (yes. I CAN stay up past 8!) I slept for maybe an hour or two, woke up and was freezing and missing my family. Adult sleepovers may be overrated. Fun. But overrated. Even when you bring your electric blanket.

So I texted Ben this picture. And I pined for coffee.

Then I played Tsum Tsum, changed locations (very quietly) and texted him THIS picture. With a desperate plea for him to come pick me up. Like an elementary school girl.
