Is it just me that thinks that's the funniest picture in the world?!?! I had Ben take a belly shot and Mimi wanted to do the same as me...she is such a cute little munchkin!!!!!

(and we both needed an opportunity to show off our new haircuts! :)

A Very Turrill Christmas

We started Christmas with our annual trip to Aunt Karen's house in Denver, where I'm convinced holds more Christmas spirit than anywhere else on earth!

This was our Christmas Eve:

you know you're in a fun house when even the bathrooms are picture-worthy. Karen puts garland in the red bathtub and lets it hold drinks. Then she had a Christmas tree in the shower with a million lit red candles...

Carolers showed up at Karen's doorstep!

This was little Mimi at around 8:30 before presents were being opened...poor thing. She just kept asking to go home! I was hoping she could hold on for 1 hour more....

...BUT, eventually the present opening started!

(I have to say that in this picture I feel like Mimi looks like me! Do you see it?! Just have to point it out because those moments are rare!)

So, in Ben's family there's this running tradition of giving someone this ugly Steamboat sweater vest. If you get it, next year you have to pass it on. 

Ben delivered me a present for me from Santa and I felt suspicious...

Here's what I got!!!!

 Everyone was convinced it'd be a great maternity sweater for July! ;)

Then it was over the river and through the woods...(more like over Colorado Blvd. and down I-25!) to our home to set up for the morning...

Here were Santa's gifts:

A princess castle to host all of Mimi's princesses...

And Mimi's Barbie and Ken Dolls, her requested gift...hiding in the tree!

The next morning we opened presents as a family, then BT, Oma, Drew and Kate came over to do all of our presents...

It was like Santa's sleigh just dumped into our living room...we were SO VERY SPOILED this year.

The Turrills got a waffle maker!!!!!!!

After stuffing our faces with waffles and bacon, we took a big nap and headed to my mom and Rodger's.

Mimi got her long desired for, Handy Manny tools!!!!!

...and a princess fort!

 she sat cozy in it by the christmas tree and watched Toy Story 3. It was a great way to end a great couple of days. We are so lucky and love our families so so very much.

P.S. Sad that we don't have more pics of Mom and Rodger! Mom, send me some from that night if you want! I must've been so chill and relaxed at that point, which is a good sign! :)

I had to have Ben take a picture of how Mimi went to bed on Christmas night. She had at least five Handy Manny tools and three barbies plus a blankie in her hand!
