Mama's On Thanksgiving Break!

That's right, Thanksgiving Break finally came!!! Now I have time to do what I love most:
be with Mimi and Ben, journal, cook, watch the Today Show, use the treadmill and BLOG!

Mimi is so fun right now. She has becoming a talking, running machine! (The talking is definitely our favorite). She loves to make animal noises and surprises us with how much she remembers and picks up. We always sing the "ABCs" in her bathtub, so now when she sees letters on a raisin box or someone's shirt, she'll say "AB." That makes her literacy teacher mama happy. She also loves to pretend to talk on the phone. She'll say "hello" (which Great-Grandma Morning taught her) and will jabber away with her "phone" between her head and neck. Anything can become a phone..pencil sharpeners, a piece of chalk, the cap to a marker...you name it. Who knew? :)

Maybe the cutest thing is that she says her own name now too (lucky girl got an easy name to say!) When she saw a baby picture of herself on the wall, she said "mimi!" (She actually thinks EVERY baby picture is her too!)

Shackin' it Up

In this box lies all of my ambitions about getting our house (and those in it) healthy. It just came in the mail today.
I'm "shackin' it up" with Shaklee.


I have the tendency to get extremely overwhelmed by our world right now; it seems like there's WAY too much information out there about how to be healthy, what to avoid, how to help the environment...etc...it's enough to make your head spin! Most of the time I deal with this by sticking my head in the sand (so to speak) and trying to forget I heard anything...(about how many chemicals are in our life, about how much waste the average family creates, about the food we eat-or don't eat enough of... the list goes on!)

But, my friend Ashley just got involved with Shaklee, and the more I researched about their products, the more I figured that this would be a good place to start. SOOO..we now have some great, non-toxic, "green" cleaning products, laundry detergent, soap, etc..as well as some rockin' vitamins (to make me feel like Super Woman! Or so I'm hoping...).

P.S. As you scroll down, please notice the incredible irony of my next post being about donut sales at school. What can I say? Now you see why I may need some vitamins (or help getting on track with some help this year!!!!)

Just When You Thought Life Couldn't Get Any Better...

...your school starts selling DONUTS! Yikes. Who tipped off the entrepreneurial little middle schoolers off about uncontrolable love for donuts!? I am sure that I will be their best customer.

A Yabba Dabba Do Time!

As you can see, we spent this Halloween as Fred, Wilma and Pebbles Flintstone and the Swansons were our dear friends, The Rubbles! Ashlie was the genius behind this great costume idea and it couldn't have been any more perfect!!! Just see for yourself!

We made sure that Mimi was able to squeeze as much fun out of this holiday as possible. On Friday, I went to school dressed up as "Little Miss Muffet"

And Mimi went to Ash's as a ladybug...(still a little sleepy)

Then we put on our Flintstones gear and headed out to the Longmont Halloween parade with our BFFs the Rubbles (and Lyvie as our Sabertooth tiger/kitty and Christian as Darth!)

What the camera can't see in this picture are the multiple dogs in the parade that Mimi chased the whole time. Ben began to know them all by their first names, thanks to Mimi.

The sweetest thing EVER. That's all I can say about that.

Afterwards the Swansons came over for a little Ef's lunch and we grabbed a quick nap.

Our sweet girls and their FIRST trick-or-treating experience...
(or should I say, the moms' first trick-or-treating experience, using their babies to get chocolate event)

Those two little munchkins were SOO cute in this little red wagon. They just looked at each other and giggled and squealed. They even got two teddy bears from a sweet neighbor of the Walkers. A GREAT first trick-or-treating experience!!! :)

You would think that after that busy day and night our celebrating would be over...but nope! We then carted our sleeping baby to NANA'S party in Gunbarrel to see our very own "Cougar Barbie" nana! Very fun (but we didn't get those pictures. I'm not exactly sure if they are legal in some states... :) Just kidding.

We were back at home at 10, and glad we stayed safe on the roads. It was a very Yabba Dabba Do Halloween indeed.
