The quick flight to our wonderful destination!

my cheesy plane read (since Tori and I are in a mommy group together.. ;) Her book was so embarrassing at times! The girl has no filter!!! But so appropriate and light-hearted for the flight

our wonderful room

The inside of our hotel...like a New York street! Complete with pretzel and hot dog places, steak houses, coffee shops, a piano bar...

Ben at the Sports Book. He put money on the nuggs our last night there, but they let him down :(

just inside a mall/hotel..it's so themey and fun everywhere...like a grown up Disney World! You can bet that I ate that all up!!! :)

our $3 early bird special...krispy kreme and coffee...

Mornings in Vegas were almost our favorite (yes, apparently we are that lame!) It was just so cool and crisp and sunny. Great weather for coffee sipping and walking around!

This is my big win...

(five dollars!)
We took a $10 (0r more!) cab just to get In-And-Out and it was soooo worth it! I think that Ben talked more about this than anything else leading up to the trip. I knew that I'd remember how good it was, but it was AMAZING! We savored every bite.

our big night out at Bobby Flay's restaurant

the pool at Caesar's...the coolest outside EVER

My favorite part really was just walking in the hotels. You just walk from one to the other, up and down escalators and hallways and through casinos. There's always fun little restaurants and cafes (all matching the theme of the hotel) and fun shops and attractions. This is the garden in the Bellagio, I think. The other thing is that you can carry your drink wherever. We'd just get a cocktail (Gin and Tonic was the drink of choice...)

These next pictures are entitled "Waking Up In Vegas"...

On our way to the brunch at MGM

There was no way that we could know, right after this picture was taken that our lives would soon change forever, (for the best) from one meal. This is Lavo. It was the best atmosphere, best drinks, best service, best meal ever. What I pictured when we got reservations from a fun restaurant in Las Vegas. It was unbelieveable. We literally can't stop talking about it. It was so fun. And, the bites that got left on my plate because I was too full to finish are still haunting me. If you're ever in Vegas, you have to go.

Outside of the Venetian

I fear writing anything to this blog, because I don't want to cheapen it with words...I seriously don't think that I can describe how fun this trip was for Ben and I. First of all, Las Vegas exceeded my expectations. I knew that it'd be fun, but it was nonstop excitement all of the time! No matter where you went, there was always something to do. Just walking around through the hotels (that all seem to connect each other) was fun. I loved getting to be dressed up and having somewhere fun to go. We had a breakfast buffet, went to In-And-Out (heavenly!), sat by the pool, played some slots, shopped and had some great meals.
I knew that getting away with Ben was needed, but I just didn't realize how much. When you're in the middle of something, you just don't see super clearly. I love Mimi SO dearly and love every part about being a mom. There aren't many times where parenthood really gets me down. However, as we were driving to the airport to leave, a new/old part of me started to resurface. The part of me that could be carefree, and silly and lighthearted. It was so weird. I guess that I didn't realize that that part of me was hidden so much. I just couldn't stop smiling. Even the meal of Quiznos at the airport was the most fun thing ever, because I didn't have to worry about any one else but me. It was so simple and carefree. The rest of the trip was so amazing. It just made me solidify how important spending time with Ben alone is. If I didn't even know that parts of us (the fun parts) were so under cover, then we'd never know it was missing until it was too late. Ben is my best friend, but most of the time we're in "battle" together, shouting out orders (me!) and trying to do the best at getting Mimi what she needs, until we fall exhausted on the couch just to get up and do it again the next day. Too much of that can wear on a person. I'm so glad that we were able to do this together. Vegas, you're number one in my book. Hopefully we'll be seeing you again...real soon.
