Fall is seducing me.
From high school on, Fall was my season. I felt crafty, I felt inspired. When I could finally drive, I'd drive around with the windows down and the music blaring, feeling so alive. Fall was the best.
That continued until about two years ago when Summer won me over. The sheer freedom that Summer promises once you have kids is pretty great. Shoes or no shoes. Clothes or just bathing suits. Bath or a dip in a pool. Anything goes in summer. I started to really love that season as a mom.
So when it was September before we knew it and the mornings turned chilly, instead of cheering and getting a pumpkin spice latte, I mourned. I wasn't ready for Fall. Fall meant Winter...and wooooaaa...slow down nature. I can't do slushy and boots and coats and cold toes just yet.
But....
Then the days became so beautiful and delicious...the sun was just warm enough and the air just cool enough. For the past three days the clouds have hung around in such a way that they're filtering the sun just right and making the blues bluer and the golden leaves so golden. There's nothing harassing about the heat like in summer. It's just hanging there like a nice warm blanket. The feeling of Fall has been palpable, wooing me back to loving it. And I have to admit, I'm head-over-heels for it again.
So what a better way to renew my vows with Fall (okay, I think I took that one too far.. ;) then to visit an apple orchard with our friends the Fishers and buy apples and apple cider??!
I also got a little photo session with my Mary-Ellen and Bode...
Considering that Bode is a bit attached to P.Js at the moment, I quickly threw an outfit together for Mimi that sort of matched her brother (that was my first "matchy matchy" attempt...). And it turned out that it was great. We found a red barn wall before we even really entered the farm and I caught some cute pics of my babies. xoxo
I know that I need to edit my pics and only show a couple, but that's annoying to me. And it takes too long to find my favorites, and then it feels like something's missing. So I'm putting them all on here. EVERY SINGLE ONE. And I feel like this:

Oh, and I love Fall. ;)
(one of the cutest things about taking these is that "Mary-Ellen" has watched me edit so many pics from photo shoots that she knows all of my poses. She'd grab Bode and hug him, then kiss him, without me even asking. She apparently has been waiting for her own photo shoot for awhile ;)
