CHRISTMAS! 2015

After our Christmas Eve service with Nanny and Geeps, we headed down to Aunt Karen's house. We hadn't seen everyone on Thanksgiving, so it was great to see them for Christmas.
I was reminiscent of all of the years being there with a baby and being stressed about the drive, bedtime, the late night. It definitely is a lot easier now (although as we were pulling out of church at 5:30 Bode asked if it was time to go home. Oh dear. If by home Bodes, you mean a long drive to Denver, a party, then drive back...then...YES! :) More and more I totally feel for him...because inside I feel the same way. I just realized that to exist as a human and adult, you have to get out and do things, even if you'd rather not. And of course we had fun and made great memories! Especially Mimi, who loves being with her crew of girl cousins.

The best part was the unwrapping of presents...of course!

Those are handmade hats from Heather and her boyfriend's mom Donna...Bode looked like the Tomten...a nordic fictional character...so appropriate for Aunt Karen's Swedish house:

Mimi and these girls. She has been chasing them around for as long as she knew they existed. There are ALL girls. (the only boy cousins live in MN). After opening presents they even spontaneously went caroling...be still my beating heart. It was the cutest, most old-fashioned, traditional fun in the most old-fashioned, traditional, charming neighborhood.

A great night was had by all.
We drove home full, tired and ready for Santa to come!

I've shared often about Bode waking up E-A-R-L-Y...
he seems to be over the hump. Thanks to some vigilance with the tot clock that turns green when he can get up and a growth spurt.

So on Christmas, MIMI was the early riser. Waiting for Bode to wake up was TORTURE for her!!! But she waited. xo

Stockings!!

Then to the tree!

Bode had two things on his list...Star Wars Lego Wii game and a Lego General Grievous (who is awesome because he has FOUR lightsabers).

Santa also found a Star Wars blankie!!!! (I think Santa is thankful for Etsy!)

For Ms. Mary-Ellen, it was a Harry Potter Christmas!

It was a great morning. And like most Christmas mornings, went so fast. Then we had some time until the rest of the family came.

On Mimi's Christmas List:
DUCT TAPE.
To craft with.

Ready for the sweetest picture ever?
Last year Mimi barely gave Uncle Drew an awkward side hug...this year...a FULL embrace of love. So sweet. We love our uncle Drew.

Bode held Uncle Drew captive for awhile in the basement after presents playing his new Wii game..

What? You don't sit around with wax lips?! ;)

Our family together is the best thing ever.

Napoleon Dynamite Forever.

This is Nana and Mims, hiding from Daddy's new mini drone that attacked Mimi's hair.

Menfolk.

Drew, flanked by his fans.
(Winnie decided that he liked Uncle Drew. Even though he'll still bark like crazy the next time he sees him too. His memory is as short as he is.)

We are blessed.
Hope you had a great Christmas.
