Denver Day

Friday Ben took off of work for some much needed R & R..

(aka "family day in the sun away from the bank")

It was also the 11th anniversary of his mom's passing.

We spent the morning at the Memorial Garden where she is buried with the kids.

It was beautiful and sad at the same time.

And, since we were in the "neighborhood," we paid Uncle Drew a visit for lunch in downtown Denver where he works.

My favorite kind of days are spontaneous family outings (that usually involve Denver and lunch).

Every time I'm downtown I remember places that I want to frequent more..

After we had lunch we headed home to get ready for the babysitter we had coming...

cause we were going BACK to D-town for a fun dinner date with Ali and Matt and baby Benjamin:)

Yes, I'm sure this hip Denver restaurant would've rather we didn't bring our offspring...but their major cuteness factor won them over!

Baby Benjamin was enthralled with BIG Benny,

and Bode was into Benjamin...

...and then the photoshoot was over..

Ali, it was SO fun seeing you as a mom!!!!

What do you do when you bring two kids who were supposed to be sleeping in their seats but aren't, to a hip restaurant?!? ANYTHING YOU CAN.

Bode fell in love with technology...

 After dinner the "suburbanites" were ready to turn in, but this Denver hipster and his posse were just getting started...

Just two boys, on the town, wondering who was going to drive them home...

Even though we live in cow-town, we can always make it to Denver (sometimes two times in one day!) to have some fun :)
