Team Turrill: Wedding Day

Here's the wedding day pics!

(minus the ceremony and lots of the reception. We had the fabulous Ali Larson as the wedding photographer, so she will supply all of that wonderfulness...! We were in good hands :)

The wedding was at Rodger's sister Carol and her husband Doug's house.

It is (and was on that day) nothing short of magical. I just kept taking pictures of the yard because it just felt perfect. Very Father of the Bride ;)

From the moment our kids got to the house they were by the water.

That made for some tricky times trying to supervise AND do other things.

But they LOVED it.

Here comes the BRIDE!

Here was Bode's wedding day text to Nana. I had to include it on here because she can't see them on her phone...

If I can read it correctly I think I can translate...

It looks like there are wedding bells with confetti coming out of them, so it's "Happy wedding day"...then there is a sailboat on the lake so that says "Here's to a great ceremony on the lake" and then there's some modes of transportation so most likely that's referring to the honeymoon journey to Aspen. He hopes that they don't see a scary monster that looks like it's from Where the Wild Things Are and if he could look into a crystal ball he'd see a happy future for Nana and Geeps.

At least I think that's the gist. ;)

Men at Work:

Since all of the work on the yard, Bode has become one with the rake.

After a brief intermission and naps, we were back for the wedding.

It was a beautiful ceremony, with waves of the lake lapping on the shore (and a bride and groom delivered by boat :)

The reception was a blast!

Mimi had lots of friends she ran with (one little boy Mason in particular).

But in the middle of the fun, a fight broke out.

Here's the backstory:

Emily, the Donahues' middle daughter holds the record of most weddings ever been in...(I think she's up to 30?!?) She lobbied hard to be the flower girl in this wedding, but was beat out by Mimi. Let's just say that there were some hard feelings on both sides. Passion for the flower girl basket got the best of them and they rumbled over it on the lawn, right in the middle of the reception!! Can you believe that?!?!

I think that Jakey was running for help...

But, just when it looked like Emily had Mimi pinned....

She fought back hard...

AND WON!

She was proud.

Wedding's sure can bring out the worst in people! ;)

Mimi and her BFF Mason...

the two were INSEPARABLE all night.

They are one month apart...

they collected shells, hung out on the dock and ate popcorn together.

When Mimi would leave his side he'd call for her!

The night ended like all weddings should...with a lot of dancing under big strings of lights under the trees, Chinese lanterns being released and sparklers and popcorn from a popcorn machine.

Ben had to take Bode home around 8:45 when neither a pack 'n play nor a drive around Loveland would put an overly tired boy to sleep. Wedding's can be hard with little ones in tow :) I was thankful to get to stay back with my big girl and get our dance on.

This morning we had brunch back at Carol and Doug's. It was the perfect way to wind down the weekend.
