Two weekends ago, Nana and Gpa stayed with the kiddos while Ben and I had a night away.
It was MAGICAL.
Even though all the arrangements and preparations to leave two kids can seem daunting and make you question why you're even doing it, it's ALWAYS worth it. Just connecting with Ben and having great conversation without being interrupted for any amount of time is great.
The kids were in great hands :)
The bummer of it all was that this weekend was also the same weekend that the weather reports were predicting and apocalyptic snow. We agonized over if we should go or not, then woke up on Saturday to see that the snow was delayed, but was picking up. So we cut our weekend short :(
In the end, it wasn't much of a snow, so then I was depressed all weekend about coming home. Sometimes you just can't predict these things.
But, none the less, a night away was pretty magical too.
