There's nothing more carefree feeling than having TWO parents on duty, good friends, food cooked for you and pool time (plus good quality floating devices) on a sunny 100 degree Saturday.
Today we went to the Swanson's pool.
We've had fun being with Andy and Nat as much as possible while they are in town. We went to staff training for Crusade together in our "we don't have kids so let's live on a whim" days (besides being good friends with Andy in high school) and now every time we get together (they live in another country) someone else has added a new child. This trip Bode was new and Natalie has baby #3 on the way this fall.
We love them and are trying not to stalk/smother them while they are in town. They're just great, and I know we'll be sad when we have to say goodbye to them.
I think that's what people say heaven is like, getting that warm fuzzy feeling of good fellowship all the time, and not ever having to say goodbye. It goes against our whole make up as people to say goodbye.
Anyhoo...
It's always a fun time with them.
And, thanks to some excellent floaties that Nat suggested, Mimi was full on SWIMMING! Jumping in on her own, kicking, putting her face in. I'd been wondering how and when this would happen. Granted, it's all with floaties, but I think they're like the training wheels of swimming. It was pretty awesome.
First, there was the "pre-pool sunscreen and popsicle time"
Then it was off to the POOL!

Blaise, the only one of the three boys who was entitled to wear children's goggles..being that he is one and all.
Mimi loved being tossed from one dad to another...
