This is how we spent a warm afternoon this week, at BT and Oma's pool ALL BY OURSELVES!
It doesn't get much better than that.
This was Bode's first time in the pool. He inherited Mimi's old ladybug float. He doesn't seem to mind that it's not quite "gender appropriate." (much like how he doesn't seem to mind that the cozy coupe I bought for him off craigslist says "Princess" on the license plate.)
It was so cute to see this little monkey in the water. He's not walking yet, but in that float, he could cruise with his feet touching all over...
good times!
Here's my BIG swimmer girl!
Who quickly became bored with the "baby pool."
...Mimi decided that she needed to go stretch out in the big pool.
She got in her tube and "swam" the length of it.
So proud of her...
...(but also nervous. It was my first time at the pool with two kids, and it was a bit scary at times. The lifeguard in me kept going over emergency scenarios in my head like fire drills...
"what if Mimi slipped out and I needed to rescue her? Where would I put Bode where he wouldn't crawl into the pool?!!"...you know, fun stuff like that. Julie calls these "daymares." Thankfully, none of those scenarios played out and everyone was safe :)
Cutest suit on the planet..
Bode had less interest in the chilly water, more interest in the food.
That's my boy.

9I was just reading your blog thinking, "that's a great question! Where WOULD she put Bode in that case?" So we're on the same strange daymare wavelength... xoxo
